Periodically like all equipment charge air coolers require cleaning, inspection and a comprehensive service to return the unit back to full operating condition, by the very nature of the working and environmental conditions experienced charge air coolers can encounter high percentage downturns in efficiency resulting in costly reduced engine output, as with all products and services available from AKS, excellence and innovation are at the forefront with the development of the UK's premier service centre for all types and makes of charge air cooler.

Conception in the Servicing

Initial Inspection
All units returned to AKS undergo an initial visual inspection to determine any apparent faults that could thwart any attempts or potential for the returning the unit to full operational condition.

Ultrasonic Cleaning
A state of art propose built ultrasonic cleaning system capable of cleaning most sizes of charge air cooler as been installed giving AKS the ability to return all makes and modals to a as new condition as possible.

Test & Inspection

After cleaning AKS implements its own specifically designed test and inspection procedure for charge air coolers that includes individual tube pressure testing, on suitable units in-house NDT systems are brought into play to ascertain tube wall thickness and tube wall integrity, plus the actual condition of water boxes, side panels or frames, any faults found requiring consideration can then effectively receive the required attention. Finally the completed unit is re-assembled using new gasket set and subjected to a full pressure test. Where water boxes are not returned AKS will pressure test the unit using our own testing blanks and dispatch a full gasket set with the unit to the client ready for use.
