The Microshell Range

The AKS MicroShell range of shell & tube heat exchangers as been designed in a direct response to the requirements of the marine industry due to the shortage and extremely long delivery dates of spares and replacement plate heat exchangers.

Using the latest advances in shell & tube heat exchanger technology AKS introduce a range of replacement units designed to fit footprint and mate to the flanges of the an original plate heat exchanger it is designed to replace.

This example below shows a direct replacement unit for The Alfa-Laval P25 & P252 coolers however most types and makes of plate heat exchanger can be replaced using a specifically designed MicroShell unit.

Direct Replacement for most Makes & Models of Plate Heat Exchangers

The MicroShell range of shell & tube heat exchangers has been designed specifically for use in a marine environment utilising as standard naval brass tube plates, 90/10 Cu Ni tubes, gun metal headers, aluminium shells for oil cooling and copper shells for water cooling.

The MicroShell heat exchanger benefits from both superior thermal and mechanical designs including a high efficiency tubestack that is fully floating to minimise thermal stresses and incorporates a unique tube-to-tubeplate jointing system ensuring reliability under extreme operating conditions. The MicroShell range is normally available in 4-6 of weeks from date of order ex-works UK

 

StStandard Shell & Tube Heat Exchangersandard Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers

The standard range of shell & tube heat exchangers extends to most applications using S/W or F/W to cool jacket water or all types of oils, units can be supplied from full working and thermal data, replacement units can be sized from very little information, i.e.: shell length, shell diameter, number of tubes, size of tubes and inlet & outlet sizes.

Direct replacement shell & tube heat exchangers and condensers can be supplied from drawings, pattern or site survey, in-house production facilities and extensive stocks allow AKS to remanufacture units to original specifications, replacement tube nest can also be manufactured with full certification available.
